In Te Ao Māori, we consider everything living and non-living to be interconnected. We share a common kinship with everything that surrounds us, our genealogy describes these connections and tells the story of how people, the landscape, plants and animals came into being. We are all descendants of Ranginui (the sky father) and Papatuanuku (the earth mother) and their children, which means we are all intrinsically linked.
